Create a personalised pet portrait from a photo

See AI classic pet portrait examples and learn how to choose a photo, check the likeness and preview your artwork on a mug, print, clothing or another gift.

A classic portrait with your pet as the subject

A pet portrait turns a permitted photo into a new illustration. The Classic portrait look adds oil-painted textures and period details while aiming to keep the animal recognisable. It can be a playful gift for a pet owner or a keepsake for your own home.

Choose a photo that shows the pet clearly

  • Keep the eyes, muzzle or beak, ears and distinctive markings in focus. Avoid a tightly cropped face if it cuts off features you want in the portrait.
  • Use even light so the fur or feather colours are visible. Strong backlighting, shadows and filters can hide details that make your pet recognisable.
  • Start with the original photo when possible. A screenshot, heavily compressed image or blurred action shot can lose detail.
  • Use a photo you have permission to upload. If more than one animal is present, select the pet and describe which one to include.

Match the portrait to the print area

A detailed face needs enough space to remain readable. On a mug, check the portrait around the curved surface and handle. On a phone case, keep the eyes and any name clear of the camera opening and choose the correct phone model.

A landscape art print gives the portrait more room, but check the composition in that shape. On clothing, check the portrait against the selected garment colour. A small sticker suits a clear silhouette and readable features better than tiny text. Compare all gifts and their specifications.

Check the likeness before you approve

Look at the eye colour, ear shape, markings and expression first. Then check the full product preview, including any name, spelling, edges and selected size or model. AI can change details, so do not approve a design you are unhappy with.

For a memorial gift, choose a photo and wording the recipient will be comfortable with. If you need it for a particular date, check delivery information and ask support before ordering.

Pet portrait questions

Is the portrait painted by an artist?

Rosie Gifts creates a new AI-assisted illustration from your photo. It is not a hand-painted commission or an unchanged photographic print. Check the likeness and product preview before ordering.

Can I make a pet look like an aristocrat?

Choose Classic portrait for an oil-painted look with rich colours and period details. The examples show pets in period clothing. AI results vary and are not guaranteed to match a particular costume or historical period.

Can I use a photo with more than one pet?

You can use a group photo, but the current personalisation flow creates a portrait of one selected pet. Identify the pet clearly, for example the black dog on the left. A separate, sharp photo of that pet is usually a clearer starting point.

Which gift should I choose for a detailed portrait?

A print gives you more space to see small details. Mugs, phone cases and stickers have smaller print areas, so check the face, markings and any name in the preview. Product pages describe the available sizes and options.

Choose your gift, then upload your photo and select a look. See how personalisation works for the full steps.
